Microscopic Traffic Modeling Inside Intersections: Interactions Between Drivers

چکیده
Microscopic traffic flow models enable predictions of operations, which allows engineers to assess the efficiency and safety effects roadway designs. Modeling vehicle trajectories inside intersections is challenging because there an infinite number possible paths in a two-dimensional space, drivers can simultaneously adapt their speeds as well. To date, human driver for simultaneous longitudinal lateral control based on infrastructure characteristics interactions with other intersection are still lacking. The contribution this paper threefold. First, it proposes integrated microscopic model describe human-driven maneuvers under interactions. Drivers plan heading acceleration predicted future minimize costs representing undesirable situations. works joint optimization interaction cost term. weights associated reflect how selfish or altruistic are. Second, proposed endogenously gives order vehicles case crossing paths. Third, develops clustered validation method interacting vehicles, account interdriver variations. Results show that accurately passing orders maneuvers, paths, against empirical data. be applied various Funding: This work was supported by National Natural Science Foundation China [Grants 71971140 52122215] Shanghai [Grant 20ZR1439300].

Improving noise assessment at intersections by modeling traffic dynamics
Three families of road noise prediction models can be distinguished depending on the way they account for traffic flow. Static noise models only consider free-flow constant-speed traffic with uniformly distributed vehicles. Analytic noise models assume that all vehicles are isolated from one another but account for their mean kinematic profile over the network. Micro-simulation noise models rel...

متن کاملTraffic Intersections of the Future
Few concepts embody the goals of artificial intelligence as well as fully autonomous robots. Countless films and stories have been made that focus on a future filled with autonomous agents that complete menial tasks or run errands that humans do not want or are too busy to carry out. One such task is driving automobiles. In this paper, we summarize the work we have done towards a future of full...
متن کاملA Distributed Modeling Framework for Large-scale Microscopic Traffic Simulation
Simulation modeling is an increasingly popular and effective tool for analyzing transportation problems, which are not amendable to study by other means. We examine the need for parallel or distributed simulation approaches from the need for computational speed-ups, availability of options towards that, and then at the need to distribute the effort to develop network simulation contexts and dat...
متن کاملA modeling framework for urban traffic systems microscopic simulation
In this paper a modeling framework for urban traffic systems (UTS) is presented. The model, used for agent based microsimulation, describes both the traffic network and dynamic entities, namely vehicles, traffic lights, and pedestrians. The framework allows defining systematically the necessary components and their behavior of a model oriented to event driven simulation, which can be executed i...
